quinoa,whole wheat healthy brownies

Do you love chocolates? Love Brownies? But are always thinking of how to reduce the Maida content in them? Scared of giving it to your toddler and kids? Yes! then this recipe is for you! I love Quinoa and making this recipe was an instinct. I am developing recipes using True Elements Quinoa.  Inara loves brownies and i have seen recipes of Ragi Flour Brownies however never tried making it for my readers, This was instinctive and i made homemade butter and the original idea was to make Thalipeeth with Quinoa , Ragi Flour, Bajra and Sorghum Flour. But i stumbled on Chocolate lying in my fridge and there was homemade butter. Match made in heaven. No? The measurements were unplanned and proportions not really fully thought of.  I always use 1 tsp of the baking agent to one cup Flour/ Wheat Flour or any other ingredient that you are using.

ingredients and method

Butter-160 grams

Cooking Chocolate-120 grams

Sugar-1/4 cup

Cooked Quinoa-1/2 cup

Whole Wheat Flour-1/2 cup


Baking powder-1 tsp

Melt the Butter and Cooking Chocolate and Sugar in the microwave for 30 seconds. Set aside for 5 minutes.

Grease and Line a square tin with Butter paper. Switch on the Oven to pre heat,

Beat the eggs and add to the chocolate mixture and beat well.

Add the sieved Whole Wheat Flour and Baking powder to the wet ingredients

Fold and mix well. Add the Quinoa and Fold again till well incorporated.

Transfer to the baking tray and bake for 20 minutes at 150 Degrees Celsius.



  • Ensure your quinoa is cooked well and mushy
  • Stays well ate room temperature for 3-4 days.
  • You may Substitute Whole Wheat with All Purpose Flour or Ragi Flour.
  • All Ingredients should be at room temperature.
